Book Review: Silver Swan

The Silver SwanThe Silver Swan by Michael Morpurgo

The Silver Swan brought out many raw emotions for me as I read it to my children. It’s about love, anger and baring witness to the cycles of life and death … So much of this is apart of the human experience and yet, the part about death is evaded. Perhaps because the emotions are so raw and sometimes dark. This story portrays death as a natural cycle of the nature. And that letting go of those we love to death is one of those challenges we face and struggle through.

When we pause, we may see that with death, there is also life. I would recommend this book to families who want to have a discussion about death and what it really means.
